I was cross-legged and leaning against a bookshelf in Boarders surrounded by my selection of books. I see his feet before I look up to see him smiling at me. He sits down, thumbs through his own books until he’s reaching for mine to tilt it out of my view and to his own. He read it, let out this little laugh, and shifted it back to me.

He, the one who handed me all that darkness and once in a while turned on so much light that I forgot I couldn’t see. Sometimes he’d turn off the light and all I’d be left with is light spots floating around in my eyes, reminding me of what was, waiting for the light again.

I am fucking sick of seeing this being reblogged or liked in my feed, of being reminded.

I love you, but I love myself more.
