Couple Married 73 Years Dies Hours Apart
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville couple who were married for 73 years have died within hours of each other at the same nursing home.
Presley and Ethel Bradshaw died Monday at Meadowview Health and Rehabilitation Center. Center nursing unit manager Chasity Stoudemire told WAVE-TV the Bradshaw’s were the “epitome of the word ‘love.’”
An obituary by Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Directors stated Presley Bradshaw was 101 years old and Ethyl was 99.
The Bradshaws were married on October 21, 1938, in Somerset.
Stoudemire said Ethyl had dementia, but nursing home admissions administrator Shannon Bass said she thinks she recognized that Presley was missing after his death in their shared room. Just four hours later, Ethyl died.
The Bradshaws’ funeral will be Friday at noon at the funeral home.
